How to Overcome a Stalled Insurance Claim (or being ignored)


If you have been taking on insurance claims for any amount of time, you know that there are times when despite the best of intentions and hard work, things just stall or stop alltogether.


Regardless of the reason (or lack of reason) you and the homeowner are being "ghosted", calls and emails go unreturned, maybe a letter is provided stating the insurer considers the claim closed, the list of circumstances goes on.


As a contractor your rights and responsibilities are mostly limited to construction process and knowledge sharing, answering construction questions, explaining your scope of work, why things have to be done under certain mandates of OSHA or the EPA or the Manufacturer of a product.


It's all too easy in the name of honestly trying to help your customer to cross that very thin line between a contractors duties and the Unauthorized Practice of Adjusting, which requires a licence in Arizona, avoid it at all  costs.
